The Senior Data  Engineer position is a challenging role that bridges the gap between data management and software development. This role reports directly to and works closely with the Director of Data Management while teaming with our software development group. You will work with the team that is designing and implementing the next generation of our internal systems replacing legacy technical debt with state-of-the-art design to enable faster product and feature creation in our big data environment.

Responsibilities


  • Design interfaces allowing the operations department to fully utilize large data sets

Ihre Aufgaben:




  • Sie sind verantwortlich für Design, Implementierung und Betrieb von effektiven Data Processing Architekturen innerhalb unserer innovativen Microservices- und Cloud-basierten Data Analytics, IIoT und Digitallösungen

  • Ingestion, Integration, Organization, Batch und Stream Processing, Lifecycle Management der Daten

  • Sichern der Qualität, Integrität und Privacy der Daten

  • Setup, Monitoring und Tuning der Hadoop Cluster und Datenbanken, you build it you run it

  • Enge Zusammenarbeit in agilen Teams mit Data Scientists, Entwicklungsteams und Product Ownern in der Datenmodellierung, Datenanalyse und Technologieberatung



Ihr Profil:




  • Studium (Master, FH / Uni) der Informatik oder einer vergleichbaren Fachrichtung

  • Sehr gute Kenntnisse mit Data Ingestion / Integration (Flume, Sqoop, Nify) Data Storage (PostgreSQL, MongoDB), Distributed Storage (Hadoop, Cloudera), Messaging (Kafka, MQTT), Data Processing (Spark, Scala), Scheduling (Oozie, Pig)

  • Praktische Erfahrung in der Entwicklung und Betrieb von large-scale Data Processing Pipelines in skalierbaren Microservice / REST Architekturen

  • Erfahrung in Cloud-Umgebungen wie Microsoft Azure oder AWS wünschenswert

  • Sehr gute Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse in Wort und Schrift

You are the right candidate if you combine opertional skills with the competence of software engineering to help us architect our hybrid cloud platform.

Want choices? We are working in AWS for our customer-facing applications and manage our own globally distributed data centres for our real-time ML platform. Want even more choices? Our realtime bidder is in Java, our ML in Python using Hadoop, Hive and Druid, and our applications are in Javascript on AWS Lambda. We are moving towards container on K8s to support our infrastructure-as-code across all aspects of our platform. If this sounds as exciting to you as it does for us, we would love to hear from you.
